Other guests are Victoria Guijarro-Santos, Research Associate at the Chair of Public International Law and International Human Rights Protection at the University of Münster (IMR), and Phillip Lücking, research associate at the University of Kassel and part of the interdisciplinary working group GeDIS (Gender/Diversity in Informatics Systems). In their joint lecture, they will talk about how algorithmic decision-making systems (re)produce social power relations.

The "Hamburger Gesprächskreis automatisiertes Entscheiden" (Hamburg Discussion Group on Automated Decision Making), founded by
Wolfgang Schulz and
Matthias C. Kettemann in the context of the interdisciplinary research project "Deciding about, through, and together with Algorithmic Decision Systems", is aimed at researchers and practitioners interested in interdisciplinary perspectives on artificial intelligence and automated decision making.
Publication
Sex robotics, drone operations and voice assistants - all of this and much more is covered by the buzzwords artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithms. But what exactly do AI and algorithms encompass and how diverse are the perspectives on them actually? AI - a turnaround in the human-machine relationship? A myth? A utopia? Future scenarios fluctuate between threat and promise. One thing is clear: technology in general and algorithmic processes in particular are inconceivable without reference to power and domination. For this very reason, these systems must be continually critically examined, evaluated and redeveloped against the backdrop of feminist perspectives and values. Feminist perspectives and intersectional approaches are hardly or not at all taken into account, and thus traditionally patriarchal views are reproduced and reinforced by the use of AI. The netzforma* publication therefore accompanies and analyzes current developments in the field of AI in an intersectional feminist way.
