5th International Conference on Computational Social Science

Our institute is represented with two contributions at the fifth International Conference on Computational Social Science.
  • 18 July 2019: Felix Victor MünchCornelius Puschmann and Ben Thies, together with Axel Bruns, present their current project in the lecture "Mining Influencers in the German Twittersphere" - this is to draw a first visual picture of the networked German Twittersphere.
  • 19 July 2019: Lisa Merten talks about the paper "News Won't Find Me? Exploring Potential Digital Inequalities in Social Media News Use", written together with Nadia Metoui, Mykola Makhortykh, Damian Trilling and Judith Möller. Using Dutch user tracking data, it examines the extent to which education, income and political interest are influenced, how much news users see on Facebook and how often and how intensively they generally interact with news content online, and whether existing mechanisms of digital divide are reinforced by online intermediaries.
