Just as quickly as the Internet provides us with important information, so quickly wrong information is shot into the digital orbit. Fake news and fake images and voices falsified with the help of algorithms, so called deepfakes, have been on everyone's lips for a long time and, last but not least, have become part of political campaigns. What possibilities do we have to distinguish facts from fakes when technology is getting better and better making fake material look real? What does the continuous exposure of accusations concerning fakes do with our relationship to reality? Clicks and attention often count more than a proper fact check. What strategies are there to fight this logic? How can we increase the fundamental trust in journalistic work again, so that nobody can say any more: it' s all fake!?
