As part of the campaign „Gleichstellung & Demokratie“ [Equality & Democracy], the German Women Lawyers Association (djb) invites you to a reading followed by an expert discussion. In the discussion, Katharina Mosene will give an insight into the world of algorithms and the way social networks work.

About the event

 
The following questions will be discussed during the evening: How can we ensure that anti-feminism is no longer ignored or trivialised, but recognised as an important element of extremist currents? And how can we end the anti-feminist radicalisation through the internet?
 
Julia Ebner, researcher on extremism, will read from her book "Radikalisierungsmaschinen – Wie Extremisten die neuen Technologien nutzen und uns manipulieren [Radicalisation Machines - How Extremists Use New Technologies and Manipulate Us]". She will also talk about her undercover research in the chat rooms of the darknet.
 
Anke Stelkens, lawyer and member of the djb working group on digital issues, and Anja Schmidt, head of the DFG research project "Pornography and Sexual Self-Determination" at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and member of the djb Criminal Law Commission, will explain the legal and women's policy demands.
 
The event will be moderated by Claudia Zimmermann-Schwartz, Vice-President of the djb and Head of the djb's Digital Working Group.
