Electric scooters on the sidewalk, private cars as taxis and not enough lanes for the many rental bikes - in the city of today and tomorrow, mobility is an important issue and new problem areas are already opening up.
How are the needs of different road users in urban public space negotiated? In addition to the classic forms of transport - car, bicycle, public transport and on foot - new forms of mobility are increasingly being added. For which groups of users will these mobility offers based on digital technologies such as car sharing, ride sharing, rental bikes and electric scooters be developed? If digitization with smart city technologies can increase efficiency, who is "optimized" for? Moreover, who owns the data and information it generates? And what is it used for? The negotiation of mobility concepts is also always closely linked to questions concerning the sustainable, social, barrier-free and healthy city and the "city of short distances." Ultimately, it is a question of what kind of city we want to live in!
