How do journalists use data for investigative reporting?
Prof. Dr. Wiebke Loosen will be a guest at Digitaler Salon of the HIIG, from 7:30 p.m. via livestream on
hiig.de or
Facebook.
Control, surveillance, manipulation - negative consequences of data collections are often discussed. But what advantages do they actually have? And what role do data play in journalism, especially in times of crisis like the present one, when the news changes on an hourly basis? Can they help us to understand the world a little better?
Election results, traffic planning or even the
corona pandemic can be better understood by journalists, developers and designers through meticulous data preparation. How can big data and open data support freedom of information? What connects journalism and technology and how do editorial and data-driven content differ?
