Goodbye rural idyll and cow-bots instead of cowboys? Precision farming and data drones promise the next agrarian revolution. Work on the field is recorded in real time and optimised, cows decide for themselves when they are milked, and harvesting takes place at the click of a mouse. Faster, cheaper, more: does digitalisation finally fill everyone up or is this just an illusion? And is digitalisation capable of sustainability? Machine maintenance and data analysis instead of feeding pigs and driving tractors - this is how everyday life of farmers could look like in the future. But will this lead to a new dependency for companies? Is that progress or are we losing touch with food production for good?
