HBI Director
Prof Dr Wolfgang Schulz is a guest at Schloss Bellevue where he will speak with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier about strategies for overcoming the ethical challenges of digitalisation. The event marks the conclusion of the two-year project
"Ethics of Digitalisation".
In addition to Wolfgang Schulz, other representatives of the institutions involved in the project will present their findings and discuss their relevance and significance with the Federal President afterwards.

About the Project
For two years, an international, interdisciplinary team researched ethical challenges posed by digitalisation and strategies to overcome them.
How should chatbots be programmed to communicate in a non-discriminatory way? What rules must apply when programming AI so that it serves the good of all? How do we design the algorithms that shape our society? The findings can be read in the project report.
Under the umbrella of the NoC (Global Network of Internet and Society Research Centers), the HBI and the
Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) are the coordinating centres, while the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard University and the Digital Asia Hub are also involved as project partners. The project is funded by the Mercator Foundation. Frank-Walter Steinmeier was the patron of this project.
