Jahreskonferenz Netzwerk Recherche

Anna von Garmissen is taking part in this year's annual conference of Netzwerk-Recherche. On 16 June, she will present the findings of the Worlds of Journalism study together with Corinna Lauerer (LMU) on the panel "SOS: Wie können wir zermürbende Strukturen im Journalismus überwinden?" [SOS: How Can We Overcome Demoralising Structures in Journalism?] The study deals with risks and uncertainties in journalism. The conference will take place at NDR Television in Hamburg.
Information on the Panel
The risks and insecurities that media professionals face continue to increase - be it short-term contracts, public attacks, stress, or sexism within the industry. Where does it all go wrong? And what needs to be done now to name and overcome the grievances? Our panel consists of a scientific and a practical part. First, we will look at the state of journalism in Germany based on a representative survey that has just been completed. How are the working conditions, the stress level, the security? Then we look at concrete cases. We let those speak who have been involved in journalism. We also ask for solutions and look at positive examples such as journalists' collectives that support each other.
