Kommen die Killerroboter? Menschliche Kontrolle und letale autonome Waffensysteme

This discussion group is aimed at both in-house and external lawyers. In the context of the interdisciplinary research project "Deciding About, by and Together With Algorithmic Decision Systems", it is intended to facilitate networking and exchange for those researchers who work on the automation and digitization of legal work in general and legal decision-making in particular. Both concrete questions and the major topics at the interface between practice and research will be discussed.

• 12:10-12:40 p.m. Presentation: Kommen die Killerroboter? Menschliche Kontrolle und letale autonome Waffensysteme [Are the Killer Robots Coming? Human Control and Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems] (Anja Dahlmann, Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik)
  Anja Dahlmann chairs the International Panel on the Regulation of Autonomous Weapons (iPRAW). Together with an international team, she is researching two questions: How can we define lethal autonomous weapon systems (LAWS) and human control over the use of weapons? What are the regulatory options for this technology? The focus is on the international negotiations within the framework of the United Nations Arms Conventions, which the panel independently monitors.
