The Open Science Conference 2018 is the 5th international conference of the Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0. It is dedicated to the Open Science movement and provides a unique forum where researchers, librarians, practitioners, politicians, and other important stakeholders can discuss and exchange their ideas and experiences.
The Open Science movement focuses on the development of the European Open Science Cloud and on research data management in general. Because the FAIR data principles, i.e. findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable research data, have recently gained importance, the thematic focus of this year’s conference will be on FAIR principles of research data and supporting research data infrastructures.
Invited as well as carefully selected talks, hands-on reports and a panel discussion will cover both the view of research data infrastructures and the view of the scientific communities. We also accepted 21 submissions to the “Call for Project Presentations” to be presented in an interactive format at the conference.
