About the Talk
How does freedom of expression as an equal and positive freedom shape the regulation of hate speech and disinformation online? How can harmful speech be countered, the equal dignity of all and the general right of personality be protected, and democracy be defended against populist and autocratic attacks without sacrificing freedom of thought and expression? The lecture will examine the answers to these questions provided by the fundamental rights systems in Germany, Europe and the United States of America.
