Score Me Maybe?

Amélie Heldt, doctoral candidate in law at the HBI and associated researcher at the HIIG will introduce the topic at this Digitaler Salon. This time it is about "social scoring ".

Rating systems are already deciding on the granting of credits. In China, so-called social scoring goes much further. Despite all criticism, are there any advantages or just disadvantages? And who should you rather not be friends online with in the future?

Moderator Katja Weber (radioeins, Deutschlandfunk Nova) discusses social scoring with exciting guests:

Nicolas Kayser-Bril, data journalist and reporter at AlgorithmWatch
Katika Kühnreich, political scientist and sinologist
Nils Zurawski, editor of surveillance-studies.org, surveillance studies Uni Hamburg

Amélie Heldt, legal scholar at the Leibniz-Institut für Medienforschung | Hans-Bredow-Institut and associated researcher at the HIIG, will introduce this topic.

The Digitaler Salon opens its doors at 6:30 p.m. This event is transmitted live on hiig.de, starting at 7:00 p.m. Then it is time to join in - on location and via Twitter via #DigSal. The Digitaler Salon takes place every last Wednesday of the month with a different theme. Recordings of past Digitaler Salons and more information can be found here.

No registration is required for the Digitaler Salon.
