Sprachwandel und diskrimierungsfreie Sprache

The HBI is expecting an exciting guest for its next in-house Bredow Colloquium, which will focus on gender-sensitive language. Dr. Stefan Hartmann, Junior Professor of Linguistics at the HHU Düsseldorf will share his thoughts on topics such as language history, language change, and cognitive linguistics, followed by a discussion of the current state of research in social science/communication science with our colleagues.

For those who cannot attend, we gladly refer to his essay:  Wissenschaft und (Sprach-)Politik: Es ist kompliziert [Science and (Language) Politics: It's Complicated].

In addition, you can download the DGPuK study overview on the topic on gender-equitable language as a pdf-file here.
