Was ist uns der Beitrag des öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunks zur freien Meinungsbildung und zur Meinungsvielfalt wert?

As part of the series "Medienpolitischer Dialog [Media Political Dialogue]", the SPD parliamentary group invites to a discussion forum, which will be attended by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schulz (Director of the Hans-Baredow-Institut), Dr. Susanne Pfab (Secretary General of the ARD), Heike Raab (State Secretary and Representative for Media Affairs of Rhineland-Palatinate), Claus Grevenig (Head of the Media Policy Department of RTL Germany) as well as Markus Brauck (Editor at "Der Spiegel").

Paul-Löbe-Haus
Raum PLH E.600
11011 Berlin

When? Thursday, 18 October 2018, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.,
Where? German Bundestag, Paul-Löbe-Haus, Room PLH E.600, 11011 Berlin.

How do the participating actors succeed in creating more acceptance and relevance of public broadcasting in a rapidly changing (digital) media world? What does a "maximum added value in terms of content for society" look like, as ARD aims to achieve it for the reform process? To what extent will creative people be fairly remunerated for their work in the future? How can the broadcasting contribution be designed fairly and how can the offer be comprehensive across all media? Are indexations of contributions, mergers of broadcasters and the extension of the telemedia mandate suitable means of increasing acceptance? Does the functional mandate have to be modernised or do the contributions have to follow it?

If you are able to participate, please register by 15 October 2018 directly via our homepage: www.spdfraktion.de/mediendialog.

For organisational questions and content-related information, Ms. Stephanie Weyand (Tel. 030/227-51833, E-Mail: [email protected] or agkult[email protected]) is gladly at your disposal.
