About the Study
What do children and parents think about the protection of minors from harmful media? What risks and challenges do they face when using online media and how do they deal with them? The researchers investigated these questions in this representative parent/child survey. Risks of online use by children and adolescents as well as ways of dealing with them are determined. The aim of the study is to create an up-to-date, knowledge-based foundation for the further development and functioning of youth media protection. The study was conducted by the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut and the JFF - Institute for Media Research and Media Education on behalf of the FSM e.V. The empirical basis of the study is a nationwide representative survey of adolescents between the ages of 9 and 16 who use the internet, as well as one parent each.
