Media Performance and Democracy

Media Performance and Democracy

The Hans-Bredow-Institut is part of a research project that is led by the University of Düsseldorf and is prepared together with colleagues from Mainz, Vienna and Zurich. The aim is to produce a study about the journalistic quality of information services in daily media in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A key component is the content analysis by which three democratic criteria will be selected: relevance, plurality and deliberation. The institute contributes to the project with its expertise regarding the role of quality for the audience of information services.
