Abstract
Happy teacups, cute dogs and dancing monkeys: stickers are very popular among young people using WhatsApp and are often sent around within group chats. In addition to harmless pictures like these, stickers with right-wing extremist and pornographic motifs are also in circulation. This article gives an overview of the background as well as the practices of the use of stickers by children and young people and classifies the handling of stickers relevant to the protection of minors in legal terms.
