Stephan Harbarth has been a judge at the BVerfG for over a year, having previously been an important figure in the CDU/CSU faction and a successful lawyer. There was a dispute about his appointment to the BVerfG over the election of politicians. The effects of this change of position are now becoming apparent in a current trial.
